Thanksgiving Break

Today we got our Christmas tree and ended up decorating it while Kyla was asleep. She was soooo excited when she woke up it made me glad we still went with a full size tree (I was pondering a mini tree for easyness sake). She sat at the base of the tree the rest of the night, playing with ornamints, and trying to kiss the branches (which would make her scrunch up her nose since pine needles tend to be poky).

Kyla and two of my cousins Kylie and Eliza. The bath started out nice and calm and ended up in chaos. My grandparents (Volmer) and my uncle Josh and Ben and their fams came to my moms house for thanksgiving. It was our year to eat at the inlaws so Kaylee and Bren were away, and the Bockholts didnt host their dinner till Sunday so it worked out so we could come and see the relatives. Thanksgiving was also our 4 year anniversary so my mom watched Kyla while Seth and I went to a hotel. It was sooo nice and relaxing. It does seem strange to think that Ive been pregnant our last 3 anniversaries. Crazy. Another thing that happened this weekend is that Kyla is now walking everywhere. In strange new places/slippery places she will still crawl but she is walking able to turn around and change directions without falling and everything.

Kyla after we got home from taking family pics on Sat.

Bow Fest. I need a bin of bows at home....who needs toys?

Kyla and Liza getting into Grandma Mindy's office drawers.

The Bockholt family. We did a Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday so everyone could be there. Plus Seths birthday is tomorow so we celebrated a little on Sun with his family.

Kyla Nov Update

These are those yogurt drops, normally Kyla HATES things on her face or head but for some reason she thought it was great when Seth stuck all these to her face.

Kyla is walking toward me in her pink bear suit. She can walt across the living room without problems but for long distances or if she wants to get somewhere fast she will still crawl.

This is today. I woke up to the sound of our mixer; Seth was busy in the kitchen and had made three different kinds of cookies from scratch! A pecan ginger bread type cookie, coconut sugar cookies (with rum extract instead of vanilla so they are more pirate like or something), and coffee cookies. Then he made me dinner. Awsome. Seth had NEVER made cookies before but as everything he cooks, it turned out fabulous. Kyla ate a lot of cookie dough from the beaters. She was pretty happy about it.

I couldnt resist taking this pic, she was smilling in her sleep and sleeping in such a cute little way.

A little while ago Kyla went with Seth to viset our parents (I was working and he wanted to go hiking so Kyla spent the day with both grandmas) When they came back they had all this new stuff with them. Seths mom had given her a cute purple coat, my mom baked me muffins and other yummy foods, there was a new book, and Summer had come over and given her 2 of the CUTEST baby bows ever (Baby Bling Bows). This is one of them. Kyla kept trying to take it off, look at it, and then put it back on again.

Year of the Witches

Lucky for us Halloween was on a Friday so we came down to join the festivites. We all were witches, my mom even dressed up which is a first since I can remember. Kaylee and Scott came down too and I wish I had a pic of Scott he was hallarious-Kaylee will post a pic I'm sure. Chantal and Bren were there too. It was also soooo warm, reminded my of my childhood Halloweens in Palm Desert, CA where you didnt have to consider the weather for you costume.

Kyla is a bat. The cape and ears were worn by all us McRae kids, my mom made it for me when I was a babe. I made the skirt. It has bats on it and is super cute (very proud of my skills). Her stocking match mine so I had to get them, and Chantal made the scarf which she adores and tries to wear all day still.

The Feaky Couple. Im pretty sure my dad only made a few kids wet their pants this year.

The sisters

In the afternoon we went to Kristy and Walts house for some goodies. Glynneth made homemade rootbeer and it has a big hit with the grandkids. Kristy made pumpkin pie and I normally hate pie crust of any kind but hers was fablous! Glynneth also wore an awsome Halloween witch costume.

Me and Kaylee

This is our Fam and yes I had to force Seth to dress up and this is what he comes up with. Ill work on him for next year.

Oh so HAPPY

I'm Pregnant! Whoohoo! I found out this weekend when one of my random pregnancy tests (test myself a lot cause I havent had a period since Kyla was born) came up positive..gotta love those two pink lines. Of course Im thrilled, been baby hungery since about June which is crazy, I know, since Kyla is still a baby. I was a little nervous about Seth but he came home from the deer hunt with a deer and I told him that was good because we're now feeding a family of four. He was SUPER excited, actually put my excitement to shame. So Kyla will be a big sister at the young age of 18 months. Im aware that it is probably socially taboo to anounce your pregnancy publicly so early on but hey, Ive had a miscarriage and a baby so I kinda know how it will be. Plus if I do, heaven forbid, have another miscarriage then I will have at least enjoyed my short pregnancy to the fullest. With Kyla I didnt even tell family till I was 4 months along, which sucked. Anyway not sure exactly when the due date is but Im pretty sure It will be around the 1st week of July. I feel great but of course it'd be too early for any big symptoms to be showing up yet...and hopefully they never do.

Deer Hunter

Jake came up Hunting with Seth. They only really had one day so I was happy they got to catch one....oh wait not catch as Seth reminds me, but kill.

I made this pic small incase there are those out there who dont like to look at these things.

You are not seeing things. Kyla is being potty trained. She goes potty multiple times a day and we've been able to decrease our diaper useage by half. She even went poop last week in the potty which was a first-usually we just get the other stuff. She LOVES it, and its more work for us since shes 10months but at least it will save us money and shell be able to do it all on her own at an earlier age.

October Fun

Visited my parents this weekend, Seth is out hunting and I had my yearly Mandt trainging (training for "taking down" aggressive/violent patients) for 9 hours so Kyla got to be babysat by Grandma McRae. Kind of a busy day when you factor in a 4 hour comute. Not wise to stay in Orem and work in Logan. Plus side is I got to visit some family and go out with Autumn, who I never get to see anymore:( This is the family dog Powder she is supper old and its a rare moment when she allows Kyla to attack her.

Gardner Villiage, gotta love that place I could spend all my money there if not carful. So many cute things and good food (Summer I saw your bows there sooo cute!). This was over conference weekend my grandparents came down from WA for a visit and to gets some tests done at the Huntsman Cancer Center. Becky and her son Matt came down too. I got to babysit Matt (1.5 years) for a couple hours and came to the conclusion I will never be able to go anywhere if I have more than one child. He was really good but managing 2 mobile babies is work.

Buying Yarn and Gardner Villiage. Chantal is a scarf making maniac.

Kyla inherited her fathers love for all things furry.

Kylas 1st time on a skateboard. Cousin Kylee not so happy with it.

We convinced my mom to dress up...I dont think she has in her adult life. This is her hat and of course we had to have a little photo shoot with Kyla. Couldn't really get a good pic due to her lightning fast movements. Oh and the scarf was made by Chantal. It goes with one of my Halloween costumes.

Kyla at the farmers market, someday I would like to see a pumpkin field with pumpkins the same size as me!

The crawling uniform.

Yes my daugther is in the truck of my car.

Pigtails! Of course they only lasted 2.5 seconds...visous little grabby hands.

Kyla and auntie Chantal.

Kyla Update

My little monster now has teeth 6 shes had them for at least a month or so. Im laying down and she decided to attack me. Now that she crawls she can do this. She's crawled officially since about 8m and 3wks, kinda slower but since she sat unassisted at 3m and 3wks it evens out. I know everyone said crawling is not always good, however as long as my floors are vaccumed, swept and mopped it is WONDERFUL. I can now go places and she can follow or entertain herself. Ive gained some freedom- a little anyway. She also loves to pull herself up on the fruniture or my legs to stand and walk. She stood up once all by herself today but I think it suprised her and she sat back down.

She had a Dr apt at 9m so last week or so. She is 18.03oz and I cant remember the ht. She is in the 50th percentile for wt and the 75 percentile for height So the height/weight ration is in the 25% since she is taller than fat. Apparently very healthy. Oh and I love those cute naturally rosy cheeks babys have.

Kyla's first official ponytail. It only gets the hairs on top and I can only do it when Seth is gone. He HATES bows and ponytails. When he sees her he says in his Kyla voice "yuk! this is discusting what is your mommy doing to you?" then he removes all bows. I wonder how long this will last.
As you can see I gave her a hair cut, the mullet/rattail is gone. (she been rolling around so her hair is really ratty right now) Oh yes and my favorite news. Kyla is weened no more breatfeeding! Hurray! Maybe my hormones will go back to normal and its nice not having to worry as much about exerciseing, and what I eat and how that will affect my "milk". Plus Kyla was getting way to curious about how she gets fed. She would detach herself and then try to eat with her fingers. Not pleasant or possible so she was cut off. This is now day three and Im suprised that it has been so easy and pain free. Now the problem is what do I say when people ask me are you still nursing????? I never know what to say and usually answer the question wrong. answer: YES to my job working as a nurse NO to breastfeeding.

Blacksmith Fork Canyon

We decided to go for a picinic now that the weather is nice. I love Sept it has to be my favorite month!
Kyla's big girl carseat, Iknow that she is still too young and still under 20 lbs but she seems just as safe and is sooo much happier forward facing besides didnt we all survive without the crazy carseat rules? (still cant believe you have to have your kid in a seat till their 8)

Rare moment. My being happy with the dogs around. Yes I suppose deep down I love em but after raising 12 puppies a few months ago combined with my dog allergies Im a little tired of em.
The picinic- yeah I went all out. PPJ's cookies and watermelon.

Once again I forgot shoes. Ican never remember those little things plus she never keeps them on. Anyway she is a Bockholt so she needs to be tuff.

Jake's Birthday

We went down to Orem to viset for Jakes 18th birthday party and to see one of his football games (although he got injured the day prior so he only got to play a little compared to normal) Part of Jakes Birthday wisheS was to have a crown and septer and rule the McRae household. Of course we know who really rules the McRae house!

My little big brothers

1st taste of cake! She couldn't stop saying Mmmmmm

This pic is for Heather who gave Kyla this cute little dress.

Sheer Joy when he realized my parents where really giving him a gun.
